Voices of the HUB Community
As 3rd year Hub Youth athlete parents, we have seen our son's progression in maturity, self-confidence, responsibility and social skills. Coach Cayce encourages and builds a unique team atmosphere. It checks all the right boxes and more!
Even though my children don’t attend traditional school, HUB has welcomed them with no judgments. Being a coach with HUB has helped me gain confidence and inspired me to work on becoming a better coach and parent to my athletes.
Hub opened a world where I could fly across the country, race for 24 hours, give back to the Homeless and pass a math test all in a week. The pillars of Health, Service and Education are lived through laughs over gritted teeth.
Hub youth cycling provided me with a community I feel super comfortable around and has helped me create many new friendships and connections.
Support, mentorship, and a spirit of inclusion and kindness define the Hub community, providing the nurturing kids need to blossom as athletes and as young adults.
Hub is a great community of youth and leaders who not only bring joy to each other, but spread it when serving others and each time they are out racing bikes!
Cycling in a group makes it more fun, keeps me motivated, and pushes me to work harder. Hub Youth cycling supports you in many ways like traveling as a group and inspiration.
I was very impressed with everything at 24 HOP. There’s only one answer for how it all came together: a lot of great people selflessly gave their time so that others could benefit.
HUB TESTIMONIALS
“As 3rd year Hub Youth athlete parents, we have seen our son's progression in maturity, self-confidence, responsibility and social skills. Additionally, one would think biking is an individual sport, but Coach Cayce encourages and builds a unique team atmosphere. The Hub Youth Cycling program is exactly what every parent should and would be hopeful to find while raising your kids. It checks all the right boxes and more!” - Josh & Katie Vermilyea, Parents
“HUB has been such a blessing to my family and I. We are able to participate at the practices and we are able to ride at our skill levels without judgement from the other riders or coaches. Even though my children don’t attend traditional school, HUB has welcomed them with no judgments and included them in many practices and races throughout the year. Being able to be a coach with HUB has helped me gain confidence, knowledge and experience on and off the bike. The leadership has been fully supportive and are great examples of how to interact with the riders, how to encourage them as they ride, and have inspired me to work on becoming a better coach and parent to my athletes” - Shalonda Van Schuyver, Coach and Parent

“Hub opened a world where I could fly across the country, race for 24 hours, give back to the Homeless and pass a math test all in a week, while enjoying every moment of it. The pillars of Health, Service and Education are lived through laughs over gritted teeth. My coaches helped me write my college essay, maintain a job through high school, and push my physical and technical limits, realizing an incredible, multifaceted young man who continues to pursue educational and physical rigor even off the bike.”

I am still reflecting on my amazing experience at 24 HOP. Everything from the event to the food to the camaraderie was wonderful. I was very impressed with everything that Maxine and I were able to experience with you all. I’m still trying to figure out how it all came together. There’s only one answer: a lot of great people selflessly gave their time so that others could benefit. Thank you. Maxine and I are so grateful to have been included and thankful for the service and generosity of all involved.”
