The Bike is The Tool
A bicycle is more than gears and carbon—it is the vehicle for discovery. We document how the bike builds the foundation for Health, Service, and Education.

How long have you been riding?
I have been riding for about six years. I was introduced to mountain biking first, via my next door neighbor and coach, Cali Ewing. After one practice, my siblings and I were head over heels for the sport and begged our parents to purchase us bikes. A few years with Harpeth Youth Cycling, and as Cayce was actively building Hub from the ground up, we started to race not just mountain, but road bikes as well. Now, our house is a jungle gym of different bikes, the sport having manifested itself deeply into our lives in a beautiful, lovely way.

Day 2: The Tactical Battle
The final test was a 77-mile road race. I felt like I had the strength to win it, but the field knew it too. Because I was in contention for the overall win, the entire DDP team marked me closely.
This is where the power of having a teammate came in. Seamus offered to help me, and together we chased down almost every attack made by DDP’s 8-person team. It was a constant tactical chess match at high speed.
24 Hours in the old pueblo: The Ultimate Test of the Tool
Twenty-four hours is a long time to stay focused. But in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo isn't just a race—it’s a masterclass in the HUB Pillars. This February, our riders joined thousands of others in "24 Hour Town" to see what happens when the sun goes down and the miles add up.

How long have you been riding?
I have been riding since I was four years old. Racing quickly became a big part of riding my bike, and HUB has given me so many opportunities to race and enjoy time on the bike in other ways.

How will you carry the Hub pillars (health/service/education) forward with you?
Going on now from Hub I feel like I can take what I have learned and apply it to not only other cycling groups but also other sports and groups that I might come across.

How has Hub inspired you?
HUB has given me more than just the chance to ride-it's shown me what it means to be part of a team that pushes each other to grow on and off the bike. The coaches, teammates, and community have all helped shape my mindset, work ethic, and confidence. It's a place where effort is celebrated, and that's stuck with me.

How long have you been riding?
My parents had me on a bike as early as possible. My Dad grew up racing so naturally he encouraged me to follow suit. Although, It wasn’t till my freshman year of high school that I actually became interested in racing and training. Since then there have been countless race weekends and time spent in the saddle.

I’ve been riding since 2020 when Whit got me into biking, so cycling has always been a team sport.
Hub Youth Cycling and Can’d Aid
On May 1, several Hub Youth Cycling members teamed up with Colorado-based non-profit Can’d Aid to build more than 100 bikes that were donated to first graders at Glenview Elementary School.
8th annual Gosh Darn Gravel Gathering
Last month more that 30 Hub Youth Cycling members gathered in the rugged hills of Hickman County, Tennessee for the 8th annual Gosh Darn Gravel Gathering. Several families camped out the night before riders embarked on their 23, 32, 47, 70, or 100-mile rides throughout the countryside, covering terrain that ranged from well-groomed gravel to fast descents, creek crossings, and heart-pounding climbs. It was a beautiful day to see so many Hub members out enjoying the day together on their bikes.
