Ride Info
Where We Meet: We will roll out from the parking area just past the Children’s Play Area located near the mountain bike trailhead.
Directions: When you enter the park and cross the bridge, drive straight to reach the lot (do not turn right).
Route Description: This ride takes us on a scenic journey along the Little Harpeth River Greenway, one of the best traffic-free cycling corridors in Brentwood.
The Ride: From the playground, we’ll pick up the paved trail that winds through shaded woods and open green spaces. As we ride, we’ll pass right by Primm Historic Park, where riders can see the Boiling Spring Academy (a historic 1830s schoolhouse) and the ancient Native American burial mounds (the Fewkes Group Archaeological Site).
The route follows the twisting path of the Little Harpeth River, offering cool breezes and great views of the water. It’s a perfect ride for our group, featuring a wide, paved surface that keeps us away from cars and road traffic.
Bonus Lookout: Keep an eye (or an ear) out as we ride - you might just see a monster truck or hear one being worked on nearby! It's a favorite local sight along the trail, so stay alert.
The Destination: Our turnaround point is the beautiful Crockett Park. We’ll loop past the historic Cool Springs House (a preserved Victorian farmhouse) and the sports fields before heading back up the greenway. This is a great, safe route to work on group riding skills while enjoying nature and history right in our backyard.
Key Features:
Surface: 95% Paved Greenway.
Traffic: Mostly Car-free path (safest option for the group!).
Landmarks: Boiling Spring Academy, Native American Mounds, and the Cool Springs House.
Fun Factor: Wildlife, river crossings, and maybe even a monster truck!
